The Connecticut Department of Corrections announced Monday an inmate at one of the state’s prisons passed away from COVID related complications on Sunday. The 67-year-old male entered the system in 2012 and was not eligible for parole until 2031. The individual, who can’t be named because of medical privacy laws, was transferred to an outside hospital for treatment on November 26th. In an effort to mitigate the spread of the virus, the agency will start mass testing the inmate population biweekly and staff weekly.
