Screening and Discussion of Last Days in Vietnam

last days vietnamLast Days in Vietnam Special Preview Screening & Panel Discussion

7,114 days. That was the length of the Vietnam War. For many people it was too far away from home to have any real concept of what was happening. For many, it was far too close.

In cooperation with Central Connecticut State University Veterans History Project, CPTV invites you to a special preview screening of a powerful new PBS documentary, The Last Days in Vietnam, which features never- before-seen footage of the last days in Vietnam and the fall of Saigon. The film follows along as US troops and diplomats plan their hasty evacuation from the country.

Join us on Monday, April 13 at 5:30 p.m. at Davidson Hall on the campus of Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT. The evening begins with a welcome reception with light fare. The screening begins at 6:45 p.m.

A panel discussion immediately follows, moderated by WNPR host and reporter, Lucy Nalpathanchil. Panel members will include:

  • Paul Bucha, a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam and Congressional Medal of Honor recipient
  • Kjell Tollefsen, a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam
  • Bill Newman, a U.S. Army veteran of Korea and Vietnam

Parking is free and on-site. Some handicap parking is available.

For any additional questions, call Audience Care at 860-275-7550.

CPTV will air the entire documentary, Last Days in Vietnam, on April, 28th at 9 p.m.

Partnership: Veterans History Project from CCSU with program director, Eileen Hurst
