Jerry Franklin, President and CEO of Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network (CPTV/WNPR), dropped the puck at the Hartford Wolf Pack’s “Salute to Heroes” night on Saturday, February 28 at the XL Center in Hartford. This specialty game offered free admission to military personnel, active duty and veterans, in honor of public service heroes in our community. The Wolf Pack wore specialty Miracle on Ice-themed jerseys to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the USA’s “Miracle on Ice” Olympic Gold Medal triumph. Their jerseys were auctioned off to benefit House of Heroes, CT, an organization that provides no-cost home repair services to military and public service veterans and their spouses. The Wolf Pack were defeated in overtime by the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 3-2 despite Chris Mueller’s two goals.
