Siesta
Robert Simonson
You can’t have a conversation about modern tequila cocktails without talking about the Siesta, a spicy, bitter spin on a Hemingway Daiquiri from the young days of the modern cocktail revival.
- 1 1/2 ounces blanco tequila
- 1/4 ounce Campari
- 3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 ounce simple syrup (1:1 sugar to water)
- Lime wheel for garnish
Combine the ingredients, except the garnish, in a cocktail shaker three-quarters filled with ice. Shake until chilled, about 15 seconds. Strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with the lime wheel.
