PICKLEBALL AMERICA TO HOST “PICKLE FOR A PURPOSE” ROUND ROBIN TOURNAMENT ON MAY 18TH TO BENEFIT STAMFORD NONPROFIT FUTURE 5
Future 5 Helps Connect Motivated Under-Resourced Stamford Students to the
People and Resources They Need to Achieve Their Educational, Career, and Life Goals

Pickleball America will host the premiere “Pickle for a Purpose” Tournament on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from Noon – 5 pm at its indoor pickleball venue — one of the largest in the US — 140 Atlantic Street, Stamford, CT. The event benefits
Future 5, which for 14 years has helped more than 950 under-resourced Stamford student members achieve their academic, career, and life goals. Currently, 160 students are waitlisted to join the program.
“We are very excited to partner with Pickleball America for this spring fundraiser to help drive Future 5 forward. It will allow us to expand services, support more students, and meet the needs of our growing population,” said Amanda Dubois-Mwake, Future 5 Executive Director. “Pickle for a Purpose will combine an afternoon of fun with the hope of creating more connections for increased numbers of high schoolers and college students in the future.”
“Pickle for a Purpose” is a Round Robin Tournament (3.0-4.0). All level players are welcome. The event also includes:
§ Exhibition match.
§ Clinic for beginners.
§ Lunch & swag bag.
§ After party with silent auction and awards for the winners.
Registration: $90 per person before March 31, 2024; $110 per person after April 1st.

Future 5 connects motivated, under-resourced Stamford students to the people and resources they need to achieve their educational, career, and life goals. To-date,
Future 5 has provided connections to more than 950 young people and currently has 120 on its waiting list. With the support of over 100 volunteers and 50 corporate/community partners, Future 5 offers links to coaching, college, community, and careers, all while helping to build character. Other elements include a pilot mentorship program, formalized “Next Track” coaching for members interested in trade school, the military, and certificate programs, and an active alumni cohort giving back to the organization.
