February 7 @ 8:00 am EST
Come to the Public Library of New London where historian and Scholar Philip Devlin will be giving a lecture that explores four connections between J. Robert Oppenheimer and Connecticut residents. These connections include a Harvard classmate of his, Dr. Ettore F. Carniglia, a New London resident named Harry Daghlian, who died of radiation poisoning at Los Alamos, Connecticut Senator Brien McMahon, and physicist John Midney of West Hartford, who worked on the Plutonium bomb at Los Alamos. All four knew Oppenheimer personally and have interesting stories to tell.
