HONK, JR.

This July, CAST children’s theatre will bring “Honk! Jr.”, based on the familiar children’s tale  “The Ugly Duckling” by Hans Christian Andersen to the Manchester stage. The show will be free and open to the public, though donations are welcome.

This charming adaptation tells the story of Ugly, an unexpected hatchling, his family on the farm, and the conniving Cat. Along his journey to self-acceptance, Ugly navigates a brood of unique characters who teach him a wide variety of lessons about life and the world: and, perhaps, that it’s not so bad being different.

CAST children’s theatre has served creative youth from 10 communities across Connecticut. Our 23 students, ages 5-13, have worked diligently over the summer to bring “Honk! Jr.” to the stage, and we’re all so excited to share it with our audience.
