The 43rd annual festival will run from 5:00 pm to 9:30 pm on Friday, December 6, 2024, and from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2024. The festival is in downtown Bethlehem, CT at the junction of Route 61 and Route 132. It extends from the top of the town green south along Main Street.
Free parking is available at the Bethlehem Fairgrounds, just north of town on Route 61. There is also a scavenger hunt (with prizes), that is free to enter. Also, children’s hayride tickets are free with adult ($5) ticket purchase.
All the buildings and churches participating in the festival are brimming with activities and Christmas spirit. The opening ceremony is on Friday night at 6 pm, where Chaz from the “Chaz and AJ Show” on WPLR radio will help Santa light the town’s beautiful 85-foot Christmas tree. Santa will stay for the balance of the festival, giving families the opportunity to take their own memorable photos.
Highlights of the festival include over 75 vendors selling handcrafted items just in time for holiday shopping, along with a multitude of delicious food choices to make everyone’s visit complete. There will be an illuminated fire truck procession after the tee lighting on Friday, a 5K “Santa Made Me Do It” Road Race on Saturday morning, and a Christmas Classic Vehicle Exhibition and Decorating Contest on Saturday afternoon.
The Christmas Town Festival is run entirely by volunteers, and the purpose of the event is to raise money to help support Memorial Hall, the community center in Bethlehem, by holding an affordable, family friendly, Christmas Festival.
