Connecticut Public and the University of Hartford host a unique conversation between Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont and former Governor M. Jodi Rell, Wednesday, September 13 on the campus of the University of Hartford.
Moderated by Connecticut Public鈥檚 Lucy Nalpathanchil, the panel discussion features our 89th governor, Ned Lamont, a Democrat, who was sworn in to his second term in January. He will be joined by M. Jodi Rell, a Republican, who served Connecticut as our 87th Governor from 2004 until 2011.
As our country and even local communities wrestle with divisions, Connecticut Public is proud to facilitate conversations around our state focused on how individuals and lawmakers can encourage civility in our discourse.
The event will be held in Millard Auditorium at the University of Hartford. UHart is also home to the Governor M. Jodi Rell Center for Public Service, which was established after Rell鈥檚 term to promote values exemplified in the governor鈥檚 career, including integrity in government and responsible participation in public life.
The governors will talk about incivility, the role of policymakers in civil discourse, and how all residents can learn to bridge divides despite political affiliations.
The event is free, register here.
