March 17 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm UTC-4
Heralded as one of the better antiques shows in New England, the Tolland Historical Society Antiques Show returns for its 55th year on Sunday, March 17th, from 9 to 3. More than 40 exhibitors from all over New England and beyond will be displaying and selling quality antiques with an emphasis on 18th and 19th century country, Americana, textiles, folk art and the like. It is, however, not just a country show. There will plenty of exhibitors who specialize in early painted and country furniture, Americana, folk art and textiles, as expected, but there will also be dealers in antique and vintage jewelry, Georgian and Victorian silver, early glass and china, early baskets and decoys, 19th c. pottery and ceramics, and much, much more. Visitors will find antiques for the advanced collector as well antiques to decorate your home – a wide variety of antiques in all price ranges.
The antiques show is held at the Tolland Middle School, 1 Falcon Way, in Tolland, CT. You can follow the show signs from either Exit 68 or Exit 69 off I-84. The Historical Society uses the proceeds to help fund their local exhibits and events. The show is managed by John and Elizabeth DeSimone, of Goosefare Antiques and Promotions, Saco, Maine. They have said that this year’s show has dealers from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Check Goosefare’s website, www.goosefareantiques.com, for a complete listing.
The antiques show will have food available for lunch and snacks. Adult admission is $10.00 and there is plenty of free parking at the school. There is no ‘early buyers’ and the gates will open promptly at 9AM. Come and enjoy the antiques show.
