2023 Compassion Walk

A little Compassion Inc. is asking the greater community to don their walking shoes on Saturday October 14th for the return of the annual Compassion Walk to celebrate inclusion, acceptance, and opportunity for all! Starting at 9am, the walk will begin and end at Tri Town Youth Services Bureau in Deep River. The three-mile provides options for walkers to complete a route from .5 miles to three miles based on each walker’s personal endurance or preference. This accessible event promises loads of fun including a sensory zone, photo booth, goodie bags and children’s activities!
The Compassion Walk is organized by A Little Compassion, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a caring and supportive community for all as well as improving the lives of young adults with autism, intellectual/developmental disabilities, or related conditions through its employment, social, and education/outreach programs.
Proceeds from the Compassion Walk supports the growth of programs designed to help provide young adults with disabilities opportunities, skills, understanding and connection. Job trainees at ALC’s Flagship program, the Nest Coffeehouse, serve up great coffee, delicious treats, and smiles while getting real on-the-job training. With the announcement of new social gatherings space earlier this year, ALC expanded opportunities for young adults to socialize and, most importantly, have a safe space to be. All ALC programs are supported by specially trained volunteers and job coaches to help participants make the most of staff experience.
Early bird admission cost for the Compassion Walk is $15 Kids and $20 for adults. The admission cost increases to $20 and $25 on the day of the event. There will also be special pricing for larger families and a free admission option for neurodiverse folks ages 0-30. For those who are unable to be there in person, a virtual option ensures that you can still be a part of the event and walk when it fits your schedule!
