CPTV Kids Day at Lyman Orchards Sunflower Maze

HARTFORD, Conn. (July 28, 2015) – Join Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) and Lyman Orchards for CPTV Kids Day on Saturday, August 1 (rain date: Sunday, August 2) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lyman Orchards in Middlefield, Connecticut. Kids and their families are invited to come for a full day of fun activities that are perfect for all ages.

Curious George and Arthur from the popular PBS children’s series of the same names will be assisting in the opening of the Sunflower Maze at 10 a.m., as well as making appearances in the Apple Barrel, meeting young fans throughout the day. These character appearances begin at 11 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. Children of all ages are captivated by the adventures of eight-year-old Arthur the aardvark and his friends. This is one of the top-rated series for children on PBS. Curious George introduces preschoolers to math, science, and engineering. These animated, smash-hit shows are the top-rated children’s series. Arthur airs weekdays at 6:30 a.m., and Curious George airs 8:00 a.m. weekdays on CPTV.

CPTV kids 1In addition to the character appearances, CPTV Kids Day attendees will also enjoy coloring activities and kid-friendly giveaways!

Children and their families can also enjoy exploring Lyman Orchards extraordinary Sunflower Maze, consisting of 350,000 towering red and yellow sunflowers that twist and turn in a unique Tyrannosaurus Rex design, inspired by the children at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Maze admission is $10 per person, $5 for ages 4-12, and free for children 3 and under. $1 of each admission is donated to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

Families may also choose to pick fresh seasonable fruit, including blueberries and peaches.
