From “NOVA,” “Nature,” and NPR News, Connecticut Public Broadcasting (CPTV & WNPR) brings trusted educational programming and top-quality current affairs reporting to homes in Connecticut. As Connecticut’s own public media network, CPBN cares about “Where We Live” and explores “All Things Connecticut” (to name just two of our original productions that examine and celebrate life in the Nutmeg state.)
Our job is to present themes around science, the arts, history, mathematics, culture and current affairs — all while being entertaining and sparking curiosity in our audiences so they will want to learn more.
Sound familiar, teachers?
Today’s pre-teen middle-school students are more media-savvy and saturated than any generation before them. But there is still a lot they have to learn both inside the classroom and beyond. CPBN wants to help provide innovative, media-based learning tools to your students in innovative ways —and we need your help.
How might public media help engage your students? Share your insights so we can create resources specifically targeted to the middle-school student and aligned with Connecticut’s curriculum.
