Scherenschnitte or Don’t Get Snippy With Me
Try your hand at this time-honored tradition of paper cutting. This intricate art form dates back to the invention of paper in ancient China. Many countries around the world have developed their own unique style. Germany, Poland (Wycinanki), Mexico (papel picado), and even the Pennsylvania-Dutch have embraced this decorative, inexpensive, and meditative artform.
Learn from teaching artist Mary Smeallie who has been making them for over 30 years. All supplies are included such as scissors or exacto knives, a variety of designs to choose from, as well as cutting boards.
