Avalonia Launches Third Annual Photo Contest

Mystic, CT – Avalonia Land Conservancy is thrilled to announce the launch of its third annual photography contest, inviting photographers and nature enthusiasts of all skill levels to capture the beauty of Avalonia’s preserves through their lenses. The contest, which is now open and runs until August 31, 2024, provides a platform for participants to showcase their talent while celebrating the stunning landscapes and biodiversity found within Avalonia’s protected areas.
Gail Kahover, overseeing the contest for Avalonia, expressed her anticipation for this year’s submissions, stating, “Our preserves just lend themselves to photography, from the beautiful stone walls that crisscross the properties to the picturesque brooks. We love to see what our visitors capture through their camera lens.”
Participants are encouraged to submit their best photos in one or more of the following categories:
- View from the Forest Floor
- People and Nature
- Life and Water
Prizes will be awarded to the first-place winners and runners-up in each category, including gift baskets with gift certificates and Avalonia-themed merchandise. Additionally, winning entries will be featured in Avalonia’s newsletter, website, and social media platforms. The contest is free to all who enter.
