Come join us at Mandell JCC for an unforgettable event where we uncover the lost tapes of Adolf Eichmann’s confession, and discover how the lessons learned from the aftermath of the Holocaust are more relevant than ever. The Devil’s Confession: The Lost Eichmann Tapes unearths secret recordings of Adolf Eichmann, one of the chief architects of the Nazis’ Final Solution, which definitively shows his active involvement in the planning and implementation of one of the greatest atrocities in world history.

Recorded in Buenos Aires in 1957 by Dutch journalist and former SS-Officer Willem Sassen with the intention to prove the Holocaust did not happen as portrayed and without Hitler’s knowledge, these tapes show precisely the opposite and expose Eichmann, in his own voice and contrary to his sworn trial testimony, stunningly admitting to the full panoply of crimes against humanity, war crimes, and crimes against the Jewish people. The film sheds light on the hidden forces that concealed the recordings, altering the arc of history as we have understood it for more than 70 years, and provides irrefutable proof against Holocaust denial and the pernicious antisemitic hatred from which it springs. The importance of a free press, the power of propaganda, and the importance of the rule of law are all vital themes explored in this remarkable film.

Senator Richard Blumenthal (Opening Remarks) Originally sworn in on January 5, 2011, Richard Blumenthal is serving his third term as a United States Senator from the State of Connecticut. Blumenthal was raised with a deep dedication to public service, a duty to give back by helping others, and a bedrock belief in hard work.

Richard Salomon (Moderator) is a CEO, Harvard-trained lawyer who has organized and moderated a diverse set of programs, including on antisemitism-related topics, for a host of organizations, including the 92Y, Temple Emanu-El’s Streicker Center, and the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center, which he co-founded and sits on the Board.

Alice Wairimu Nderitu of Kenya is Under-Secretary-General and Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide. Ms Nderitu is a recognized voice in the field of peacebuilding and atrocity crimes prevention. As mediator of armed conflicts, she served as a member of the African Unions Network of African Women in Conflict Prevention and Mediation (Fem-Wise), the Women Waging Peace Network and Global Alliance of Women Mediators.

Avinoam Patt is the Maurice Greenberg Professor of Holocaust Studies at New York University. Dr. Patt previously held the Doris and Simon Konover Chair of Judaic Studies at the University of Connecticut, where he served as Director of the Center for Judaic Studies and Contemporary Jewish Life. He is the author of multiple books on Jewish responses to the Holocaust.

James Waller is the inaugural Christopher J. Dodd Chair in Human Rights Practice and director of the Dodd Human Rights Impact Programs for the Gladstein Family Human Rights Institute at the University of Connecticut. In addition to his faculty appointment in the Gladstein Family Human Rights Institute, he holds a joint appointment in the Department of Literatures, Cultures, and Languages.
