Toys for Tots Train

The Railroad Museum of New England and Naugatuck Railroad are proud to partner with Operation Toy Train and the United States Marine Corps to benefit the Toys for Tots Foundation! We’ll be running a special train and stopping at four points along our line, collecting toys to bring the joy of Christmas to less fortunate youth.
We’re encouraging our passengers, friends, and neighbors to visit one of these stops to donate a new toy (no wrapping paper, please!) to be collected by our train. All the toys we collect will be delivered to the Marines and redistributed within the collection area, keeping your donations local and benefitting less fortunate children in our neighborhoods.
The schedule for the 2023 Toys for Tots Train includes stops in:
- Waterbury:聽44 Chase River Road, behind Fascia’s Chocolates; 12 pm – 12:30 pm
- Thomaston Station:聽242 East Main Street, Thomaston; 1 pm – 1:30 pm
- East Litchfield:聽70 East Litchfield Road, just east of Johnson Road/Exit 42 on Route 8; 2 pm – 2:45 pm
- Torrington:聽170 Water Street, Torringon, next to Alfredo’s Deli; 3-4 pm
In past years, we have collected over 15 full bins of toys, a total of approximately 1,500 toys per year. Our goal for 2023 is to fill our express car, approximately 20 bins’ worth!
