September 22, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm EDT
Housing affordability in Northwest Connecticut, the southern Berkshires, and eastern Hudson Valley in New York will take center stage at the upcoming forum titled “Housing + Jobs + Conservation: A Roadmap for Action.” Presented by the Salisbury Forum and Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and hosted at the Salisbury School, this community event will address the challenges posed by the rapidly decreasing affordability of housing for local area workers and residents and how the issue intersects with economic and conservation imperatives. The forum will lay the groundwork for a collaborative process that merges the need for housing solutions and economic growth with long-term commitments to conservation of the region’s natural beauty. The event will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023.
Steve Rosenberg will moderate a panel of experts, including representatives from non-profit developers, local government, and regional planning and conservation organizations. Steve brings a unique perspective to the issue of housing affordability and conservation, having joined Scenic Hudson Land Trust in 1990, and recently serving as its Executive Director.
The event kicks off with a reception at the Salisbury School Seifert Theater from 5-6 pm, followed by the panel discussion from 6:30 to 8 pm. Go to www.salisburyforum.org to register for this free event.
