On May 1 we honored Jerry Franklin’s 34-year career at Connecticut Public with help from the evening’s gracious and elegant emcee, Christine Baranski, and tributes from Hall of Fame Coach Geno Auriemma and celebrity chef Jacques Pepin. Even Barney the purple dinosaur showed up to wish Jerry well on his retirement adventures. Under the Streetlamp’s performance was a true high note of the evening, as they wowed us with rockin’ renditions of Frankie Valli tunes and other Doo-Wop classics. Thank you to the hundreds of supporters who joined the celebration and helped launch The Franklin Visionary Idea Fund. Your generosity will help us further our mission of informing and inspiring the people of Connecticut, connecting and empowering them through outstanding journalism, storytelling, education and experiences.
