Every week, WNPR’s John Dankosky and Colin McEnroe are joined by a small group of reporters and analysts to talk about the week’s news. This weekly round table discussion, aptly named The Wheelhouse, has always been a spirited discussion on air, and now WNPR producers are bringing it off air and into the community.
The Wheelhouse Uncensored took place at Black Eyed Sally’s in downtown Hartford. Open to the public, this event was a chance for our public radio to do things differently. “We wanted people to be free to get into the conversation,” said strategist, Suzi Craig. “Everyone was free to be themselves.”
The event was not taped, which allowed for more relaxed panelists and in-depth questioning. Attendees enjoyed the unique authenticity of meeting hosts at the bar, over a beverage.
WNPR Executive Producer, Catie Talarski enjoyed getting to know listeners in person, “There were a lot of new people we haven’t met before!” When asked if this is something she would continue she said, “Yes, I would do it again.”
Thank you to those who came out to share in this special event.
