Orpheus Sings is based on the story of Orpheus in the Underworld and takes you to the depths of Hell. Joining us on stage will be André De Shields, winner of the 2019 Grammy and Tony awards as Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his critically acclaimed performance as Hermes in Hadestown! Orchestra Lumos will perform music of Orpheus in the Underworld, including Beethoven and the famous Can-Can by Jacques Offenbach.
Then go to Heaven, with Shakespeare’s love stories and the music he inspired. Michel Gill and Jayne Atkinson, husband and wife and acclaimed stars of stage and TV including House of Cards, will co-host this event to celebrate love and in all its forms with the immortal words of Shakespeare. Orchestra Lumos will play the stunning music from A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Romeo and Juliet.
