United States Coast Guard Band Presents Season Opener: “Dance and Romance!”
NEW LONDON, Conn.—Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in Leamy Hall at the United States Coast Guard Academy, the Coast Guard Band opens its concert season with “Dance and Romance!” Join us for an electric concert celebrating all things bold and vivacious under the baton of Commander Adam Williamson.
The aptly named opening flourish “Bravado” kicks off the performance, and the program charges ahead with Antonín Dvořák’s iconic “Carnival Overture.” Bassoonist, Senior Chief Musician Brooke McEwan is featured on Edward Elgar’s tender “Romance,” which is followed by a charismatic pair of pieces, “Love & Nature” by Gala Flagello and “L’Inglesina” by Davide Delle Cese. Leonard Bernstein’s dramatic symphonic suite On The Waterfront follows, and his vibrant “Mambo” concludes the performance.
This event is free and open to the public. Leamy Hall is located at 15 Mohegan Avenue, New London, CT, 06320.
